Sunnyside Community Garden runs a number of projects.......
Throughout the week, Sunnyside runs horticultural therapy sessions for people who would like to either learn about gardening or to garden for therapeutic reasons. Sunnyside especially welcome volunteers who suffer from mental health distress and/or have a physical disability.
If you are interested in volunteering some time at Sunnyside, please contact either Peter or Babs on 020 7272 3522 to arrange a visit. You do not need any particular skills but you must have an interest in gardening.
Bicycle Maintenance Workshops
On the fourth Wednesday of every month (except August and December) Sunnyside hosts a bicycle maintenance workshop in partnership with the Islington Cycle Action Group (ICAG). The aim of the workshop is to encourage people to look after their own bicycles and ultimately to increase the number of cyclists in London.
The times of the workshops are 7pm until 9.30pm. The cost of the workshop is 50p (unwaged) or £1 (waged). If you would like further information, call Adrian on 07810 211902.
Sunnyside also receives a grant through the London Cycle Campaign to host a bi-weekly maintenance workshop on Saturdays. The free workshops take place every 2nd and 4th Saturday of the month between 12pm and 2pm. Just bring your bike and come and talk to our bike maintenance staff who will be pleased to help.

Saturday Organic Market
To promote healthy eating and organic food, Sunnyside hold a weekly organic food market in partnership with Eostre Organics.
The market runs every Saturday from 10am until 3pm and you will find fresh vegetables, cheeses and bread.

One of the aims of Sunnyside Community Garden is to help volunteers at Sunnyside move into paid employment (if they want to). As a stepping stone to employment, we help volunteers get practical gardening experience by taking them on gardening contacts in the community.
